The Midwestern Region of the National Black Law Students Association cordially invites you to our 57th MWBLSA Regional Convention! It will be held from Wednesday, January 29th through Saturday, February 1st at Loyola University Chicago School of Law in Chicago, IL. The Annual Gala will take place at the Adler Planetarium.


Our annual conventions consist of powerful panel discussions, networking opportunities, community service initiatives, receptions, awards gala, and SO much more.


Join us as we celebrate 57 years of service and achievements in the Midwestern Black law community!

Convention Highlights:


Advocacy Competitions (1/29-1/30):


Showcase your advocacy skills as a competitor within the annual Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition and Thurgood Marshall Moot Court Competitions! The region’s top advocates will compete for prestigious honors.


  • ***NOTE*** To streamline the process this year, competitors will register for the Mock Trial competition, along with the convention HERE.

Convention Programming (1/31-2/1):


Engage in impactful programming through dynamic panels and workshops that explore diverse topics, including non-traditional career paths, maximizing opportunities in and beyond law school, and the evolving role of technology in the legal profession. Whether you're seeking to expand your career options or stay ahead of industry trends, this programming is designed to inspire and empower all participants.


Pre-Law Programming:


Pre-law students are invited to participate in dedicated events that offer insights into the law school admissions process, networking opportunities with legal professionals, and interactive workshops designed to prepare them for a successful legal career. 


  • **NOTE** Pre-law tickets do not include entry to the gala or networking dinner. Gala tickets may become available at a later time.


Alumni Engagement:


Alumni will have the opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni through exclusive networking events. Participate in resume reviews and mock interviews, share your experiences, and explore how to support and mentor the next generation of legal professionals!


  • Alumni are invited to participate in the career expo, headshots, and the Gala.
  • **NOTE** Alumni tickets do not include entry to the networking dinner. Tickets will be available for purchase at a later time.


Annual Gala and Awards Ceremony (2/1):


Celebrate our shared legacy and accomplishments at the signature Gala & Awards Ceremony. This evening of celebration and networking will highlight the remarkable achievements of the MWBLSA community and provide a perfect conclusion to an inspiring convention.
