The panelists will address the role of the labor movement and the struggle for racial justice, starting with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s fateful trip to Memphis to support striking sanitation workers.  The panelists will discuss why the economic equity furthered by collective bargaining is a fundamental part of the fight for racial equity and how unions have been a key part of the Civil Rights Movement even while combatting their own history of racism.  The panelists will also address the recent controversy over police unions.
