The Committee for Public Counsel Services is the Massachusetts agency of public defenders. We provide direct legal representation in Massachusetts for those unable to afford an attorney in all matters in which the law requires the appointment of counsel; defends the constitutional rights of the accused; and promotes restorative justice.
CPCS is currently hiring for summer 2021 interns. The internship will be incredibly meaningful, exposing and dynamic. The small group of interns selected will receive individualized attention. Each intern will be allowed to handle their own cases, each intern will be assigned a mentor and each intern will be part of an intensive training program. Through each of these elements, the interns will be true participants in case investigation, client relationships, and courtroom advocacy. Interns will receive intensive training, during which they will be exposed to holistic defense, community lawyering principles and cutting-edge litigation tactics. For anyone considering a career in public defense, this internship will be incredibly informative and supportive.
